The road is constantly being patched very poorly, but is used by 100's of HGV and aggregate lorries daily, and many travel at excessive speeds. This not only poses a serious threat to the residents of our road, but also the houses we live in. Vibrations can be felt within our properties which is causing damage to some properties, and an investigation is underway to confirm the vehicles are responsible, which ultimately falls to the Council and Highways!
I have reported this to many agencies including Highways, Councillors, Police, etc. and none of the can be bothered to take action and actually reduce the road speed limit to that advised by the Government of 40 MPH! Lincolnshire County Councils answer, these are only guidance! Most HGV operators were helpful, but the rudest was BSH, who basically told me they would drive to the speed limit and had no consideration for the residents.
This area is also part of the Lincolnshire Wheel, which the Council happily try to advertise, but someone will be injured by these drivers.
I had someone overtake me as I was indicating to turn in to my driveway. When I flashed and sounded my horn, he dangerously applied his brakes, got out and nstarted to threaten me and hurl abuse. When I said i was about to turn he then said he now knew where I lived.
I have served 22 years in the Military, been to the worst countries on the planet and when leaving bought a beautiful house in the countryside to enjoy. Because of the Council and Highways failure to do anything, our safety and quality of life is being destroyed by inconsiderate drivers, and no one will take any steps to prevent this.
